OUR PROCESSING POLICY AND QUALITY GUARANTEE: We are a QUALITY 1st LAB; What does this mean? This means turn-time comes in 2nd place at this lab. The dr5 process is a highly customized process, as is our Negative processing & our E6 is very highly controlled. Quality control is very tenuous and precise. We will not put our clients film in harms way, for any reason. We make every effort to meet deadlines, and we will bend over backwards to provide a required delivery. If by some circumstance our controls are off, QUALITY will reside over DELIVERY. This we feel sets us apart from any other lab. We will not run your film unless EVERYTHING in the production process is perfect. The same rules apply for our other services.

dr5 PROCESSING: The dr5 process is a custom designed from scratch reversal B&W process for almost all existing B&W films including the remaining SCALA film. dr5 is more than just a process, it is a 'shooting system', capable of shooter control at most all levels. The process produces image quality 4~5 times its negative counterpart and making B&W as easy to scan as E6. 35mm - 11x14 size film is processed.

B&W NEGATIVE PROCESSING: Our newly revamped negative processing line is like no other in the country. We give full control of the processing to our clients. While we have standard developers selected for each film type, clients can pick which ever developer they like best. 35mm - 16x20 size film is processed. All film types processed.

E6 PROCESSING: We started e6 processing on request by our clients. We run a very high-end e6 line. Tolerances for running film are very strict and the line is never more than .2 off from the '0' line. We do not run film if the line is past these tolerances.

FILM RECORDING - LVT / CRT: Film recording - Digital to film services adds a very unique spin to our services, services you will find no where else.

SCANNING: Scanning on all levels, from drum, high-end flat, to roll scans.

dr5 is a process which produces not just B&W chromes, but images that are sharper, possessing more tonal range than any other means of film processing. For SCALA-FILM shooters; we will always be able to process the scala film, but do check out some of the other even better films for B&W slides: FILMREVIEW

dr5 can also be utilized for producing remarkable "INTERPOSITIVES" thus, preserving the existence of old negative libraries. Fine-art contact printers will also benefit from dr5-processed "ENLARGED NEGATIVES" made from original negatives, sizes up to 11"x14". dr5 is not a generic run-of-the-mill reversal B&W process and was not referenced by any published recipe. It is not the Kodak kit or the AGFA SCALA process. INDUSTRY inquires and lab visits are welcome. The learning curve of using dr5, in part, is learning how the process reacts to existing films. Other considerations are: film speed variables, contrast change, push & pull, and differences in film types.

The dr5 process was designed to give the photographer the largest amount of variables, in essence, giving you the ability to put a B&W custom darkroom inside your camera! The photographer has the freedom to change the contrast, speed & tonal range at will, simply by either changing the ISO or selecting from over 25 different film types. dr5 also employs the use of "two" developers: a neutral developer (Developer 1), and sepia developer (Developer 2), the choice of either is yours at no extra charge.

DIGITAL READY; dr5 produces a very scanable image quality. One of dr5's perks is digital post. It reproduces photographically without any crossover. It is the perfect choice for graphic magazine production, archival stock, archiving old B&W negative libraries [INTERPOSITIVES] and as an original to produce enlarged negatives. We challenge ANY digital shooter to top our B&W quality! dr5 will surpass anything digitally shot.

Our dr5 equipment is a state of the art, one of a kind custom designed dip&dunk machine, specially engineered for dr5 by TECNOLAB.

Quality control is a #1 priority! dr5, E6 & our B&W Negative-lines are tested several times daily to assure consistent contrast and density. We do our best to remain competitive and go to extremes to provide the best quality. This EXTRA effort is reflected in our pricing for some services. We are also doing our best to keep our costs down in this very volatile photo-market.

INDUSTRY RETROSPECT: The photo industry is changing rapidly. In this ever-changing photo market we find it important to concentrate on one thing, and do it very well. We believe specialty labs are the future. dr5-chrome® Lab is dedicated to Film-Processing, OUR SPECIALTY, with only a few other related FILM services. Our lab also specializes in DIGITAL-to-FILM output, FILM RECORDING [NOTE: We can provide limited traditional B&W printing services, including; custom-fiber, upon client special request.]

After NYC and 1-yr in Los Angeles, dr5 relocates to Denver CO.in mid '05, because of the NYC 911 photo industry collapse and the high-cost of Real Estate in NYC & LA. We have made our final move, to stabilize our operation expenses, we found it necessary to AGAIN relocate. We made this move for YOU, our clients. Further changes in the photo-industry made it necessary to make the move to Denver or raise our fee's substantially.
